Season 1 of Batman: Caped Crusader was announced on May 19, 2021, as a series set to premiere on Cartoon Network and HBO Max, but due to the Warner Bros. Discovery merger, it had been shipped away to other outlets on August 22, 2022. It had been picked up by Amazon as part of their Prime Video streaming service on March 9, 2023, and had premiered on August 1, 2024.

On May 19, 2021, Batman: Caped Crusader was announced as a series set to premiere on Cartoon Network and HBO Max. Also announced on that day was news that J. J. Abrams, Matt Reeves and Bruce Timm would be executive producers on the series. More information about the series is set to be shown at DC FanDome 2021. Due to the Warner Bros. Discovery merger taking place, it had been shipped away to other outlets on August 22, 2022. Both this season and Season 2 were picked up by Amazon on March 9, 2023.
